FLorida with 10 Cheap Activities

Not only the retirement capital of America but also the vacation capital of America, Florida attracts people of all ages  year-round for fun, sun, and excitement. Inspite of a little pricy in the theme parks, you can do many things that doesn't waste of much money.

 

Below is a short list of 10 things to do in Florida that won't hurt your wallet or purse.

 

a. National Naval Air Museum - Pensacola - This museum lets you get up close and personal with the famous Blue Angels. On Wednesdays there is an autograph session with the pilots of these fantastic jets. The Naval Air Museum provides plenty of interactive displays to give you a first-hand feel of our naval history.

Sunset Celebrations - Key West and Clearwater Beach - Imagine having nothing better to celebrate than Mother Nature's daily setting of the sun! If there's any excuse to have a party, it's this one! Join others to watch the sunset daily which automatically leads to music, dancing, and great food!

 

c. Beaches - Pinellas County - Florida is busting at the seams with beaches, but what if you're a pet owner and you brought Fido with you? Fort DeSoto Park offers free admission and is "paw friendly", so bring your dog with you and the two of you can have some fun in the sand!

 

d. Wine tasting - Nothing beats free wine, and many wineries in Florida offer complimentary wine tastings. Lakeridge Winery, for example, is a great place to go for a tour, short presentation, and wine tasting. These tours and tastings are offered daily.

 

e. Sun Splash Park - Daytona Beach - This beach also comes with a park, shaded playground, water play fountain, picnic areas, volleyball courts, and a "cool zone" to take a break from the heat.

 

f. Lighthouse Point Park - Daytona Beach - If you enjoy a nice leisurely stroll along the beach, this park offers 52 acres of land including all kinds of wildlife. Admission is less than $5.00 per vehicle.

 

g. Dry Tortugas National Park - Key West - Dry Tortugas National Park is home to the historic Fort Jefferson, and is accessible by boat or seaplane. This park offers hiking trails and camping. A family of 4 can camp at Dry Tortugas for very cheap!

 

h. HH Historic Pensacola Village - Pensacola - Pensacola Village brings you back in time. The village also offers ghost tours, and has several museums and shops.

 

i. Jacksonville Zoo - Jacksonville - Zoos are great for the whole family! Admission is inexpensive, and they're open 363 days a year! (Closed Christmas Day and Thanksgiving).

 

j. Schoolhouse Museum - Boynton Beach - Visit a restored schoolhouse from 1913. Kids can dress up in period costumes and learn what education was like in the early 20th century.
